multicoloured chillies

our chillies are finally ripening!  apparently they are edible when they turn red. i'm guessing the rest will need to ripen inside as the weather turns increasingly autumnal.

They're so pretty! They look lovely.

These look very similar to chillis I grow: Fiesta? or Numex Twilight? I know I've used them while still purple without ill effects, but perhaps yours are a different type?

i don't know what type they are zia - the plant was a gift. a lot more have turned red and i am going to try them. any tips on keeping them alive over the winbter? i'm guessing they will need to come inside.

I've never tried to keep the whole plant alive overwinter although I've been told it's possible, and yes, they'll need to be indoors, they're not frost-hardy. If they are the same variety as mine then they are quite fiercely hot - in a good way, of course.

hi zia - i bought it in and most of the leaves dropped off but it seems to be doing okay and they are still ripening. the chillies are incredibly hot so it seems like we might have the same variety!

Chillis still ripening in November sounds brilliant. I've picked nearly all the chillis from my plant now, but I'd love to know how easy it is to keep it going indoors.
